What is a health coach?
Change is anything but easy. It takes drive, motivation, and strategy to change habits for ourselves and our families. Most of all, it takes support - and this is where health coaches excel. Health Coaches are change agents. They understand how habits form, they know how to reverse them, and they specialize in helping people overcome obstacles in pursuit of their goals. You are not meant to do this alone. One of the most effective ways to make changes for your children is to role model them yourselves. Whether you start in preconception or are working with your child, health and healing IS POSSIBLE!
I work with clients to identify overall wellness goals as they relate to clinician recommendations and/or personal desires around food, movement, relaxation, and community. I help you minimize the overwhelm, take control of thoughts and emotions, and maximize the feeling of empowerment.
I am a bit nontraditional in that I geek out working with two groups: anything related to pregnancy and anything related to children.
Preconception, Prenatal, & Postpartum Health Coaching: Did you know that your health (and your partner’s health) preconception can impact the health of your baby? How cool is that! You have the opportunity to influence your unborn baby’s health with each bite you take, thought you think, or movement you make. I can help you prepare for conception, transform your wellness during pregnancy, and heal intentionally in postpartum Every human being is unique and we work together to decide where to begin, outline specific goals around things like nutrition, hydration, relaxation, sleep, detox, and movement (really anything you want to transform).
Children: With adults, there are often decades of bad habits and health pieces to unwind. With children, small shifts can create powerful tools for change and ultimately, health for the future. Children are literally the keys to our future. By supporting a positive change in a child’s life, the gap to child and even adult chronic illness epidemics, such as diabetes, obesity, and autoimmune conditions begins to close. This often starts with the caregiver as a role model. But HOW to get here is tough. Coaches guide, support, and empower through this change process.
As a health coach, I do not diagnose or write prescriptions, but can provide you with education on any confusing materials and help you prioritize goals. We work together to set up a plan of action to find wholeness in your health, transforming it into your dream state.
